Overview
The Inver Grove Heights Police Department uses the Dakota County curfew ordinance. The county curfew ordinance prohibits juveniles from being in a public place or establishment during certain nighttime hours.
A public place is any place that the public or a substantial portion of the public has access to. This includes street, highways, parks, schools, etc. An establishment is a privately-owned place of business to which the public is invited. Examples of establishments are movie theaters, restaurants, and bowling alleys.

Exceptions
- With a parent, guardian or other responsible adult
- At work or in the process of going to or coming from home or work
- Involved in an emergency
- Going to, attending, or coming home from a supervised school, church, or recreational activity
- In front of his / her own residence
Violation of the curfew ordinance #122 sub 4, may lead to a fine and/or court appearance.
