More About the Park
South Valley is a great neighborhood park located at 2810 70th Street E. It was recently renovated and is now home to a brand new park shelter with a kitchen, performance plaza, fire pits, playground, expanded parking lot, fresh trails, and an archery range. Come fly down the large sledding hill during the snowy winter months!

Sledding Hill
Race down South Valley's wonderful sledding hill! The hill is unlit and available during park hours. The restroom building is available at scheduled days/times; see the restrooms tab below for details. Portable restrooms are also available.

About the Range
As part of Phase 2 of the South Valley Park Master Plan, the City is excited to announce the new public archery range in the northeast corner of the park. The range will open for public use on Friday, August 15, 2025.
The new archery range features groundlevel shooting lanes, elevated platforms and targets at various distances to accommodate all skill levels. The range is separated from other areas of the park with fencing and abundant signage around the edges of the range to keep all park visitors safe. Construction began in winter 2024 and will be substantially complete in August of 2025.
Range Rules
- The range is open daily from sunrise to sunset
- Archers under 16 must have adult supervision with them at the shooting lane
- Only shoot at established targets in your designated lane
- Do not approach the target while others are shooting or shoot while anyone is downrange or at the target
- Use target arrows with field points only; no broadheads
- Crossbows are allowed (only use target arrows)
- If animals or people are in the range, hold your shot
- Only draw your bow in the direction of your target
- Be courteous of others waiting
- No firearms
- Archery range is tobacco, alcohol, and cannabis free
- Use of range is at your own risk
- If there is an emergency, please call 911
Open Shooting Line Controls
- Always stand completely behind the shooting line when not shooting
- Check the range and ensure it’s clear before straddling the shooting line
- If the range is clear, loudly yell “CLEAR” and confirm “ALL CLEAR” with other archers
- Straddle the shooting line and begin shooting
- When you’ve shot all your arrows and others are still shooting, step completely behind the shooting line
- When all archers have shot all of their arrows, loudly yell “CLEAR” and confirm “ALL CLEAR” with other archers before retrieving arrows from the range
Keep These Safety Rules in Mind
- Always keep your bow pointed in a safe direction
- Always keep your finger off the bow string until ready to shoot
- Always keep your arrow off the string until ready to use

The restrooms in the park shelter are open on the following schedule. Schedule is subject to change depending on staff availability.
