We are ready to HIRE ON-SITE Tuesday, May 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the VMCC. Staff will be conducting interviews, assisting with application completion and onboarding new hires!

Water Safety Day | Thursday, May 6Never had formal training in the water? Here's your chance, IGH!
In recognition of Water Safety Day (May 6) we will offer FREE, 30-minute water safety lessons in our VMCC Aquatic Center to people ages 6mo to 99 years!
You will learn how to keep yourself and your loved ones safe in and around the water.

Birding on the Mississippi | Saturday, May 8 | 8-10 a.m.
Explore the Rock Island Swing Bridge and its unique vantage point over the Mississippi River while learning birding tips from a naturalist from Dakota County Parks. Binoculars will be provided. Even though this event is free, you must pre-register at Dakota County Parks by calling 952-891-7000.

IGH Police Department Open House | May 12: 3-7 p.m.
You are invited to join us in recognizing National Police Week at the IGH Police Dept. Open House being held outdoors at 8150 Barbara Ave. on Wednesday, May 12 from 3 to 7 p.m.
Spring Shred Event | Saturday, May 15: 9 a.m.-Noon

National Trails Day Hike | Saturday, June 5 and Sunday, June 6 | Ages 6+
Sign up for the Scavenger Hunt at Harmon Park Reserve and spend the day searching for clues along the beautiful unpaved trails! Complete the scavenger hunt and receive a gift!
Princess Dance in a Box – Father’s Day Edition! | Ages 4-12 with adult
Register for an event box and pick an evening that is convenient for you to celebrate together. Plan on making many wonderful memories while dancing at home, participating in fun activities together and creating crafts and keepsakes to remember the evening!
Kits will be available for pickup beginning Wednesday, June 16 at the Veterans Memorial Community Center.
Fee: $25 (1 adult, 1 child), Each additional child: $13
Terrific Tuesdays @ South Valley Park | June-Aug | 10:30 a.m. | FREE!
Join us at South Valley Park for family-friendly entertainment with a variety of musical and educational performances, storytelling, and more! Bring a blanket, chair, snack, and water bottle. Stick around after to play at the park, walk the trails or have lunch under the pavilion!
