Future Projects

The Public Works maintains the infrastructure and public services for the community. This section provides information on evaluating construction and maintenance needs of the city and future projects that are being considered. 

Future projects means that the projects are the desire of Public Works staff to improve. It does not mean that the future projects that are identified are in the CIP or have funding. It is important to provide high standards of the existing system while looking forward at growth and opportunity for future construction projects.

County Trail Updates that impact IGH

• Concord Blvd (Co Rd 56) Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements Project in IGH & So. St. Paul (Dakota County Project: Fall 2022-Summer 2023)
• Unity Trail Project in IGH (Dakota County Parks Project in partnership with City of IGH, Dakota County Library, Inver Hills Community College and ISD 199) - The Unity Trail will be a 5-mile loop along existing walkways in Inver Grove Heights. It will highlight the contributions of Dakota County's diverse community.
