South Valley Park Grand Re-Opening

Join us for the grand re-opening of South Valley Park!

• Tuesday, August 27, 6-7:30 p.m.
• Ribbon cutting event: 6:30 p.m.
• South Valley Park - 2810 70th St. E.

We'll have music, fun activities, and refreshments. Food will be provided from Hometown Meats (while supplies last). Leashed dogs are welcome; please pick up after your pup!

Parking

Free parking is available at several locations for this event:

1. North Valley Park - 2800 70th St. E.

   • Golf carts will be available to shuttle guests to and from South Valley Park via the tunnel that goes under 70th St starting at 5:30 p.m.
   • Guests can also walk along the sidewalk to the tunnel that goes under 70th St; it's about a 5 minute walk
   • A portable restroom is available at North Valley Park

2. South Valley Park - 2810 70th St. E.

   • We encourage those with mobility restrictions and those with small children and strollers to park at South Valley
   • We expect the South Valley Park parking lot to fill quickly; we encourage you to arrive early and give yourself extra time to park
   • There are indoor restrooms and a portable restroom at South Valley Park

3. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church - 7070 Bovey Ave. E.

   • A van will be available to shuttle guests to and from South Valley Park via 70th St. starting at 5:30 p.m. (the van does not have space for wheelchairs or strollers)
   • Guests can also walk along the sidewalk; it's about a 5 minute walk
   • The church and their restrooms will be open 6:30-7:30 p.m.

We encourage you to carpool, walk, or bike to the park if you can. Please give yourself extra time to find parking and keep an eye out for pedestrians.

Construction

Construction began at South Valley Park in the summer of 2023. The park now features a new park shelter with kitchen and restrooms, playground, performance area, large plaza, and expanded parking lot. Learn more about the renovations at South Valley Park.
