Rock Island Swing Bridge Lighting Celebration
Join us as we celebrate the brand-new color-changing LED lights on the Rock Island Swing Bridge. Stay for a special lighting display that will bring the bridge to life in a whole new way.
Event Details
- Tuesday, June 17
- 7–8:30 p.m.
- 7-8:15 p.m. - Music & mingling with parks & recreation staff
- 8:15 p.m. – Remarks by Adam Lares, Parks & Recreation Director
- 8:30 p.m. – Lighting of the bridge
- 8:30-10 p.m. - Light displays will continue until 10 p.m. - stay and enjoy the full effect as the sky gets darker
- Swing Bridge Park – 4465 66th St. E.
Free ice cream treats will be provided by Hometown Sweets while supplies last.
Parking is limited at Swing Bridge Park—please consider biking, walking, or carpooling. Overflow parking is available in the Heritage Village Park parking lot. Restrooms and a drinking fountain are available in the Dakota County shelter at the trailhead.
Please Note:
This event includes flashing and color-changing lights. If you are sensitive to flashing lights, we encourage you to attend the earlier portion of the evening. A video of the light show will be posted to our social media channels after the event.
