2025 IGH Pavement Management Initiative - Bacardi Avenue & 88th Street Area

Construction Updates

Residents,

The contractor will begin ramping driveways early afternoon tomorrow (8/14), so you will be able to access your property by the end of the day. Additionally, the contractor will begin paving the road approximately at 7am on Friday (8/15). While paving operations are underway, residents may not be able to get vehicles out of their driveways temporarily, if a vehicle is needed on Friday, residents are encouraged to park along Aviary Path prior to paving operations beginning. Residential driveways will remain gravel until the contractor comes back mid next week. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.

General Updates

Access:

Residents may be restricted to a single lane once work resumes. Until then, both lanes will remain open. Residents may not have access to Bacardi while paving operations are going on but access will be restored by the end of each day. Residents should move their vehicles to Aviary Path prior to the contractors 7am start times if a vehicle is needed throughout the day.

Garbage Service:

As construction activities continue in your area, please be advised that garbage collection services will not be impacted. Residents should continue to place their garbage and recycling bins out on their regular collection days and in their usual locations.

Temporary Mailboxes:

Due to construction in the area, temporary mailboxes will be installed to ensure uninterrupted mail delivery. These temporary mailboxes will be located at the south end of Bacardi Ave and will remain in use until work is complete and normal access is restored. If you have questions about mail delivery, please contact your local post office or the project representative listed on your notice.

Driveway Notice:

Driveway access will be restored by the end of thursday (8/14), residents may not be able to get vehicles out during paving operations on friday (8/15). Residents are encouraged to park along Aviary path if a vehicle is needed on Friday.

Right-of-Way Obstruction Notice:

Property owners are responsible for any irrigation systems, invisible dog fences, or other unpermitted obstructions located within the public right-of-way (approximately 12–15 feet behind the edge of the gravel, within the boulevard area). To avoid potential damage or additional costs during construction. Please temporarily relocate your irrigation lines at least 4 feet behind the road before work begins in your area. After topsoil is placed, you may reinstall their irrigation systems prior to sod installation. Neither the City nor the Contractor is liable for damage to any unpermitted obstructions within the right-of-way. Please turn off any irrigation zones that are near the street until work is completed.
